Five million industrial robots now operate in factories worldwide

The IFR's new global robot count gives buyers market context, but it does not establish whether a particular Chinese supplier fits an application.

What the source reports

The International Federation of Robotics reports that the global operational stock of industrial robots reached five million units in 2025, up 9% from the previous year.

The IFR says factories installed more than 600,000 industrial robots worldwide during 2025.

China accounted for 59% of global industrial robot deployments, according to the IFR's 2025 installation figures.

Buyer view

This is a market scale indicator, not a supplier quality ranking. Buyers considering Chinese manufacturers should still compare the complete application: payload after tooling, reach, cycle time, controller interfaces, safety documentation, integration costs and local service. A rising installation count makes supplier research timely but cannot substitute for a factory-specific evaluation.
